ABOUT US

Chris Newcombe is a botanical artist working in, graphite, watercolour and pen & ink, with a focus on capturing the fine detail and natural beauty of plants. She has always had a strong connection to art and nature, and her work brings these two interests together through careful observation and traditional techniques.

Chris is currently studying for a Diploma in Botanical Illustration at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. This formal training is helping her to refine her technical skills and deepen her understanding of botanical scientific accuracy.

She’s currently working on a series of pieces for an upcoming exhibition and is open to commissions.

Her work combines precision and softness, aiming to reflect the subtle character of each plant she studies. Chris’s paintings are shaped by patience, curiosity, and a genuine love for the natural world.
